Maya Roads New Products

This is Maya Road's Journaling Scroll Coaster Chipboard Book. I purchased these because they are the perfect size for ATCs. The ATC would be glued in the center of the chipboard, so that the scroll can be see all the way around your ATC. There are 6 chipboard pages to the mini album. I thought you'd have a ball with these. And if you don't want to use them for your ATCs, then take a look at some of the other great ideas created with this book.

Rangers, Claudine Hellmuth

Here is Claudine Hellmuth. She is an alter artist, and author of my favorite collage book, Collage Discovery Workshop. She also wrote Collage Discovery Workshop Beyond the Unexpected. She is also know for her "Poppets". You can see a few of her Poppets in the background of this photo. The green lady on the left and the orange lady on the right. She also autographed my apron.

Pictures of my loot and my make & takes from the show

Here are a few photos showing what I brought back with me. I also receive many new magazines and art books, as well as company catalogs galore. The make & takes are shown in the first photo. The other two photos show the products that I received. I even won at the Making Memories Booth 2:00 daily drawing. I won the new Slice die-cut machine and a MM tabletop organizer in white just for wearing their apron!! I'll get my new Slice when they are released in August. I've never won anything like that before!! It was the highlight of my trip!

This 12 x 12 photo frame was created using Creative Imaginations papers, Asian Fusion, by Marah Johnson. She hosted this make and take and I had her sign the back of my frame. Her signature is in the center of the frame.
This 8 1/2 x 11 photo frame was created using Creative Imaginations Papers. I'm not sure what they are called. We used the foils on both frames which made them beautifully metallic.

Looks like I had fun, huh! I will post more photos tomorrow or Thursday. I ordered so many things and have some neat new products that I can't wait for you all to see. The orders should be starting to come in next week.

Photos from the Craft & Hobby Show (CHA Summer)

Here is a picture with Heidi Swapp! Yep, that's her. She's an amazing lady! She is on the left; that's me on the right.

I told her how much we all love her Chipboard Clocks and stamps. I asked her to make some smaller chipboard items for us ATC artists. (Crowns, birds, etc.) So let's hope she comes out with some when she releases her winter line.

New shaped clips are now in stock

Hey, we finally have our most popular printed twill back in stock! We also added blank Oatmeal Tan Twill for those who wanted a bit darker shade other than our usual Ivory Twill. We also added AaBbCcDdEeFf and Music notes. Here is the link for our Ribbon, Twill & Rick Rack: http://youratcstore.com/index.php?cPath=48

I've had a few requests for some spiral clips, so I just added them all to the Metal Works Catagory. This has also been mentioned on the ATC Yahoo Group ATC_World message boards. I'm a member of this wonderful group. Pictured are just a few of the new clips that just arrived. These are being used to attach Artist Trading Cards onto the Manilla Refills Tags for the 7 Gypsies Revolving ATC Holder. This is a great way to attach your ATCs onto the refill tags without needing to punch the rolodex notches out. Using these clips will add color, not to mention it's just a cool embellishment, but it will also making removing your ATCs a breeze. Now you can easily view the artists & swap information on the back of your ATC without losing that information for good. This is a super idea for those artists who don't want to glue their ATCs onto the refill tags so they can remember who and where their ATCs came from.

ATCs I made with 7 Gypsies ATC Transparencies for Holder called Photo Edges

ATC Card #1
ATC Card #2
ATC Card #3
ATC Card #4
I decided to play around with these new photo edge transparencies, by 7 Gypsies, which are for their Revolving ATC holder. These colorful tranparencies look so amazing layered over ATCs for the holder, so I thought, "I wonder if I could use these colorful transparencies to make regular ATCs?" Soooo, if you don't have one of 7 Gypsies holders, then take a look at what I made. You might want to purchase a package when you see what I've done with four of them.
I covered the two rolodex notches on the left side of the ATC #1 and #2. On ATC #3 and #4, I cut off the left side of the transparency where the rolodex notches were. It gives you just a bit a room to put some extras embellishments, (I used tiny black rick rack on #3), but you can come up with so many other ideas. Or you can center the cut transparency like I did on ATC #4. I really didn't have to come up with too many things to put under the transparency either. Since the transparency decorates your ATCs with its brilliant colors, beautiful borders, words, and amazing designs. I simply added photos from the Leisure Arts Ephemera ATC Card Collections, Funny Quotes and the Military & USA pack, and added the extras to complete all 4 cards.
So, what do you think?? If you would like to purchase a set of the 7 Gypsies Photo Edge Transparencies, I have provided a link to that product at the yourATCstore site. There are 2 of each of the 10 different styles/colors, for a total of 20 transparencies. Not bad! Here's the link: http://youratcstore.com/product_info.php?cPath=55&products_id=1231 Next I'll play around with the NEW 7 Gypsies ATC Refill Cards - Family Quotes. So be watching for that next week.

Here is an ATC inspired by the new German Foil Dresden Paper Scrap. The image is from a new collage sheet that I just created that I will be adding to the site, as well as some other new sheets. The German Foil comes in borders and objects in blue, light blue, red, pink, silver, gold, antique gold, copper, aqua, turquiose, green, light green, violet, black and white. Oh my, it's been too long!!

Sorry, I haven't posted lately. I have been wrapped up with all of the business taxes (that took forever to sort, compile, add....bla, bla, bla). Now that that is over I have been busy with loads of orders, of which I am extremely grateful for. Thank you guys and gals in ATC land!!
For days now I have been trying to post all of the new products that I have ordered, and I find that I still am not done. And you should see my desk! Don't worry, I won't be posting a picture of that. You'll have to check out all of the new things that I have added recently. Just go to the site and click on the "What's new" arrow. You'll see new items from 2 different distributors that I ordered from, tons of products from 7 Gypsies, an order of cool stuff from Artchix Studio (wait until to see the German Scrap I bought from them; don't have that on the site yet), Charms from Artgirlz (not on site yet), collage sheets from Altered Pages, more stamps from Catslife Press, more products from Crafty Secrets, (I haven't even received any of these orders yet!) And I now I will be carrying most of the products Tim Holtz uses in his monthly challenges. Here is his blog addy if you don't have it. I frequent it often: http://timholtz.typepad.com/ I haven't received my "Wanted" paper yet, by Basic Grey(that's the paper he features this month), but I will be adding that to his Monthly Challenge catagory on the site. Here's the link to that: http://youratcstore.com/index.php?cPath=78 I also found a great site to order charms from. Like crowns, birds, wings etc. Oh I can't wait!! And, and... I am hoping to be able to purchase some of the NEW Prima Artful Collage Flowers that Tim Holtz just mentioned on his blog that he is taking to his Alaskan Crafting Class Cruise. I want to buy a variety so that you will get some of each type. I will hopefully be ordering that soon too. Oh, I almost forgot, I purchased some Clear Acrylic Covers and some Clip Board Wood Covers with some Antique Brass O'Wire Binding for my Zutter Bind-it-All machine. I will be creating some mini ATC albums once I find the right kind of paper I want to use for the pages of the album. You know, clear albums are in, so wait until you see these! I'll just be binding them with these cool products, and you guys can do the rest. I also have my technique for the week, but haven't taken pictures of that yet. Hopefully, I will post that over the weekend.
Woooo, no wonder I'm so busy, and have had no time to make any ATCs! Yah, my family wonders where I'm at these days too. Check back often to see if I've gone mad yet, or become buried in paperwork and have locked myself in my workshop!!! LOL!! I do it all for you!!

Love you guys!!
And always sending smiles,
~Lisaswings~

Technique for the week

Technique for the week: Epoxy Watch Crystals.
Here is a technique for you to try.
You will need:
Watch Crystals
Watch Innards
Judikins Diamond Glaze
A toothpick
Fill the watch crystal with the Diamond Glaze, but leave room for the watch innards. Choose the watch innard pieces that you would like to use for your project. Place your pieces on top of the Diamond Glaze, and carefully sink them in the glaze using the toothpick. Refill with more glaze until it is flush with the top edge of the watch crystal. Let it dry about 1 hour. I cut a watch image out and placed it under that dry crystal before gluing it to my ATC. There you have it. You can also try other small objects or charms, some glitter too perhaps. Or use a face image, or anything under your completed epoxy embellishment that will match your ATC theme.

My Pink Arist Square

Here is my Pink Artist square - Each artist has made a 2x2 art square that when joined together will make ONE creation [the pink artist doll]- ART for a cause. Here is my Pink Artist square.
Here is the link to the Pink Artist Group:
The charity is Susan G. Komen for the Cure:
Sunshine, my 4 year old cockatiel
In memory of my Sunshine. My favorite one of the bunch who died Feb. 24 in my hands. She had laid over 11 eggs, and she was too weak to go on. I had no idea! After taking her to the vet, I loved her up for 4 days before she finally gave up.

Rainbow Bridge
Just this side of heaven is a place called Rainbow Bridge. When an animal dies that has been especially close to someone here, that pet goes to the Rainbow Bridge. There are meadows and hills for all of our special friends so they can run and play together. There is plenty of food, water, and sunshine. Our friends are warm and comfortable.
All the animals who were ill or old are restored to health and vigor. Those were hurt or maimed are made whole and strong again, just as we remember them in our dreams of the days and times gone by. The animals are happy and content, except for one small thing; they each miss someone very special to them who had to be left behind. They all run and play together, but the day comes when one suddenly stops and looks into the distance. Her bright eyes are intent; her eager body begins to quiver. Suddenly she begins to fly from the group, flying over the green grass, her wings carrying her faster and faster.
You have been spotted, and when you and your special friend finally meet, you cling together in joyous reunion, never to be parted again. The happy kisses rain upon your face, your hand again caresses her beloved head, and you look once more into the trusting eyes of your pet, so long gone from your life but never absent from your heart.
Then you cross the Rainbow Bridge together . . .

There are many wonderful times and events in our home. There are also times of great loss. Our animals are treated as family members, and are very much loved. Each one is special in their own particular way. Some of them who have passed on have touched us in a special way that is important for us to share with others. As sad as it is to lose a family member, we are blessed to have the time together we did.

Say a prayer for me. I am lost without my Sunshine!
New background stamps from Lost Coast Designs. These will soon be on the site to be able to purchase separately. Each background stamp will be priced at $3.07 for each design.
